DOCTOR OF NATURAL SCIENCES

We had a great experience participating in "Science is Wonderful" organised by the European Commission. We share our research, passion and curiosity with around 4000 pupils from all over Belgium.

Inspire your pupils with Science is Wonderful!

Science is Wonderful! is a free science fair taking place in the Maison de la Poste (Brussels) on 16-17 March 2023. It is a great opportunity for primary and secondary school pupils to make science come alive thanks to mind-blowing hands-on experiments, games and many other activities organised by our MSCA researchers. Over 100 leading scientists will be ready to interact with your pupils, answer their questions and share their important work. Don’t miss out! Registrations are now open, and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is mandatory for school classes or members of the press. Participation is FREE of charge and a free lunch or bus shuttle can be arranged (limited availability).

Join us for this celebration of science and register HERE.

Molecular aspects of lipid metabolism in the midgut gland of the brown shrimp Crangon crangon

The brown shrimp,Crangon crangon, is well adapted to the variable environmental conditions in the southernNorth Sea. It is very abundant, has high reproduction rates, and holds a key position in coastal ecosystems.

Seasonal lipid dynamics of the shrimps Crangon crangon and Pandalus montagui in the German Bight (North Sea).

Environmental fluctuations can impose energetic constraints on organisms in terms of food shortage or compensation for metabolic stress.

Transcriptome analysis of the midgut gland of the brown shrimp Crangon crangon indicates high polymorphism of digestive enzymes.

Tolerance of organisms towards heterogeneous and variable environments is highly related to physiological flexibility.
